I spent most of my childhood in Limestone County on land that has been held by my mother's family for over 100 years. Some of my ancestors are listed as being among the first settlers of Limestone County in 1819.  I picked cotton, hauled hay, toiled in the family garden, and played/hunted on the same land as my great-great-great-grandfather.  My mother was born in the family cabin and is buried 1/4 mile away in the family cemetery.  The area holds a special place in my heart and I am connected to the land.

I presently live in a Madison County valley with several hundred acres of cotton, corn and wheat surrounded by hills of the Appalachian Plateau.
