The south is my home.  I grew up doing normal kid stuff.  Running around, with my cousins and brother, like a banshee in the woods playing cowboys and Indians, cops and robbers, camping out, working in the garden, hunting, and fishing.  I attended school in Limestone County and later at Auburn University.  I decided that Auburn was where I should go because a pretty brunette gave me a big smile on the first day walking around the campus.  I never saw her again among the other 18,000 students but at least she got me there.  I was able to escape with a Bachelor's degree and worked for 30 years.

I did not meet the love of my life until I was nearly 30. She had two boys and we were married six months after we met.  During our 27 years of marriage, we added two daughter-in-laws and four grandchildren.   The daughter-in-laws are great and the grandkids are spoiled in a good way.  I love being a Papa.

When we are not keeping grandkids, my wife and I like to travel.  Over the years we have taken several trips around the southeast.  Some of our favorite outdoor locations are the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Little River Canyon, Buck's Pocket, Walls of Jericho, the Florida panhandle, and Fall Creek Falls.  We enjoy weekend trips to Nashville, Tennessee and are planning to go to Chattanooga, Tennessee in the near future.
